How we process your personal data in the Microverse RDMO
Research Data Management Organiser is an open-source web tool that enables researchers to create data management plans (DMPs) for their research projects as a part of good scientific practice. It requires the storage and processing of the following personal data to use the service:
- Basic data, including account information for Principal Investigator and all project contributors (full name, ORCID, e-mail address, membership in the Microverse projects, primary affiliation)
- Traffic data (technical necessary log data and cookies)
- Project documentation.
Personal data is processed for the provision of this service. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e) GDPR in conjunction with § 11 ThürHG. The legal basis for the storage and processing of personal data within the projects and research documentation is the responsibility of the researcher.
The use of Microverse RDMO is tied to the validity of the university account. The transfer of project documents stored in Microverse RDMO, e.g. to research partners, is the responsibility of the project participants. The University of Jena Computer Centre does not pass on any personal data to third parties.
RDMO only uses technically necessary cookies (session cookies) for the operation of the website, e.g., for navigation to function and display correctly. Session cookies are deleted when the browser session ends.
Project documentation is stored on an as-needed basis until they are no longer required. It is the responsibility of individual users or team administrators to determine whether this requirement still exists or whether documents can be deleted. User accounts are also stored in the same way as project documents until they are no longer required. User data and personal content can be anonymised at the request of the person concerned after they leave the organisation.
